W.I.P.: The Rules

In progress: the rules of the project. New Deadline
  1. Contributors: You need to be listed as co-authors of this blog to participate. Email here to be added.
  2. Content: Each chapter dedicated to an individual, with a brief bio and a picture (or avatar), followed by the story. No lenght limit, no style guideline set so far.
  3. New Deadline: Spring Equinox 2010
  4. Feedback: Authors should expect comments on their essays. Feedback about the project itself, discussions on rights, publishing, media, etc. should happen on Embracing Reason - letters from atheists Wave or as comments under one blog entry created specifically for this - vote?
I'll be modifying this Rules blog entry as the need arises.
Please use comments here for notes & sugestions. Thnx

Project Embracing Reason: Initiated!

On October 31st 2009, Judas wrote his first Wave:

I would like to put together a collection of "open letters" from atheists to the world at large and have it published.  The concept is fairly simple:

How did you personally find reason?
Why do you personally embrace reason and logic as opposed to theism?

It is open to whoever wishes to participate and contribute, though the goal would be to have at least 20-30 people contribute their stories, both people who were raised as theists and broke away and also people who have never embraced theism.

Each chapter would be dedicated to an individual, with a brief bio and a picture (or avatar), followed by their story.

After a few weeks of discussion on Wave, it was suggested that a blog be created so the prospective authors could drop their texts in view of an eventual and more formal publication. Well here's the first draft.

Anybody who wishes to participate needs to be 'invited' by me as co-authors of this blog. Just email me. That's about all the management required. Each contribution will be a blog entry that people (for now, any guest) will be able to discuss and comment.

This blog remains to be tweaked some more for maybe comfort and usability. And it is not really intended for public consumption.  But it is certainly ready to receive materials. Who'll be first?

Comments and suggestions are of course welcome.
